According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), between 40 and 60 percent of small businesses never reopen following a disaster. This course will focus on how the licensed insurance agent can assist organizations in planning and preparing for how to respond to a disaster, both man-made and natural, as well as post-disaster responses and resources that are available to help organizations recover. Risk management strategies related to pre-event planning as well as post-event responses will be discussed. Insurance coverages such as Business Income, Cyber, Equipment Breakdown, and Flood will be examined to compliment the planning and response for various events.
