With the emergence of InsurTechs and the option to purchase insurance online, is the Agency distribution model antiquated? What does the future hold for the Independent Agent? Is it even needed? This course will discuss those issues as well as what impact the insurance industry has had and will continue to have on our economy and overall quality of life.
OBJECTIVE: This seminar will explore the current and future state of the independent agency system. Participants will come away with an understanding of how that model has evolved over the years and what the agency of the future may look like. The class will also discuss ways the industry contributes to society beyond the collection of premium and payment of covered claims. The seminar will incorporate a discussion of what each of the agency participants are doing to “give back” to their local communities and the country in general, as well as the many positive reasons for doing so.
Approved for 3 credit hours in KY and OH. Concentration: General Insurance
