Tom has recently retired from his position as a Supervising Casualty Adjuster in his company's national accounts division.  He started his 40-year adjusting career with GAB, the first independent adjusting company in the world; which was later purchased by Cunningham Lindsey and is currently owned by Sedgwick He has handled major liability losses throughout the US and is considered to be an expert in the practical application of tort law based on his extensive training and experience handling a wide range of exposures.

Tom is a long-time instructor of the CIB. His highly interactive seminars are designed to explain complex legal terms, policy coverage issues and typical claims procedures in an interesting, humorous way using practical examples from real-life situations.

Rick has taught insurance courses for the past 25 years. He is a national faculty member for the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research

He is an Educational Consultant at large for CIC Institutes. Teaches all Life and Health Insurance topics for Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Life and Health Institutes. Topics include graduate-level presentations on Senior Insurance Solutions, Retirement Planning, College Planning, and Annuities for Ruble Graduate Seminars.

He also teaches Insurance continuing education and pre-licensing courses.

George Best is Area Senior VP Loss Control Consultant with the Cincinnati branch of  Arthur J. Gallagher & Company.  George has been in the Insurance Loss Control field for over 35 years specializing in Risk Management and Safety Program development and administration, an Authorized 10/30 hr. OSHA Outreach instructor for Construction and General Industry and involved with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
 
George is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Graduate of Northern Kentucky University. He has taught CE class for the CIB since 2003.

Mercy Komar is a Senior Account Executive at L. Calvin Jones Insurance in Canfield, Ohio. Having worked all functions at an agency (except accounting) from reception to sales to ownership, Mercy provides unique perspectives on her work in the field of education.
Mercy has been a Certified Insurance Counselor since 1997 and has amassed over 800 hours of advanced insurance education. A risk specialist for garage and cyber risks, she speaks at Lunch and Learns, business associations meetings, client groups and does in-house continuing education. She offers continuing education courses through the National Alliance and courses of her own design.

At the end of March, 2023, Jim Clear retired as a Sr. Marketing Representative for UFG Insurance.  July of 2022 marked his 41st year in insurance.  Jim started in 1981 with the Ohio Casualty Group and served in underwriting and production marketing roles. In 1996, he was honored as the PIA Ohio Field Representative of the Year.  In 2002, he was honored as the Cincinnati Insurance Board's Company Person of the Year.  During his insurance career, Jim also worked for Pennsylvania Lumbermans in the wood niche insuring sawmills, lumberyards, and cabinet makers. Thanks to his deep experience across the insurance industry, he brings a unique perspective to the property insurance classes taught for the CIB. He has been teaching CE classes for the CIB since 2017.

Debra has over 30 years experience working in the insurance industry where she spent the majority of her career on the large broker side.

During that time she placed and serviced large middle market, national and international commercial accounts.  A broad industry generalist with experience in construction, real estate, manufacturing and transportation. Debra has been teaching prelicense courses for the GCIB since 2022.
 
Debra holds the CPCU, ARM, CRM (inactive) and CRIS (inactive) insurance designations.

Chris has over 30 years experience working in the insurance industry where he spent the majority of his career with The Cincinnati Insurance Companies.  During that time he served as a commercial lines underwriter, underwriting manager, and Director of Operations for their Commercial Lines Department.  He has also worked more recently as Operations Lead (Commercial and Personal Lines) for the AssuredPartners agency in Cincinnati.  Chris taught numerous property & casualty classes while working for Cincinnati Insurance, and was an instructor for "The Institutes," one of the premier providers of educational services for the property & casualty industry.  Chris has also been teaching prelicense and continuing education courses for the GCIB since 2019. 

Chris holds the CPCU, ARe, AIM, ARP, ARM, and AIT insurance designations.
