results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Writing, renewing and amending new and existing policies
. Building and maintaining ongoing relationships with clients including scheduling and attending
meetings and understanding the nature of clients' businesses and/or lives
. Foreseeing clients' insurance needs
. Researching insurance policies and negotiating with underwriters to find the most suitable
insurance for clients taking into account coverages, premiums and other policy terms.
. Arranging specialized types of insurance coverage in complex cases. This may involve
preparing manuscript forms for insurance underwriters and negotiating with insurers.
. Advising clients the pros and cons of making a particular claim on their policies
. Selling enough new business and renewing enough prior business to reach goals set by
producer and agency
. Developing relationships with underwriters and other professionals
. Completing administrative tasks such as dealing with paperwork, correspondence and keeping
detailed records. Some but not all of such tasks would include completing applications,
gathering underwriting information and carefullycheckinginsurancecoverages and rates.
. Keeping sales skills honed so that sales ratio stays above 50%.
. Keeping up with changes in the insurance market and in the clients' industries
. Collect insurance premiums and process accounts through Client Advocates
. Gathering enough information from clients to assess the adequacy of their current coverage
and their ongoing insurance needs and complete applications & supplements.
. Maintaining all agencies, state and carrier mandated licenses and CE requirements.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
. Excellent overall understanding of the business of insurance, and its impact on consumers
. Current licenses to sell insurance, and the maintenance of these
. At least two years in a broker/producer capacity, or the applicable number of years in an
agency support position, with the intent to obtain licenses for selling
. Superior command of communications, both written and verbal
. Self-motivated individual, with the desire to listen, understand and assist consumers and
businesses in selecting the proper insurance solutions for their specific needs
. Ability to use and understand effective automated documentation for agency records
. Working knowledge and use of Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint (MS Office Products)
. Might possess prior use of Marshall/Swift/Boeck Building Replacement Cost Appraisals and
Insurance Carrier rating systems.
